2022 Ford Lightning at Zeigler Ford North Riverside

Ford has launched the all-new 2022 F-150 Lightning Pro the first-ever all-electric F-Series truck. This F-150 was purpose-built for commercial customers, and just like all Ford trucks, it is Built Ford Tough. The Lightning comes in a Super Crew cab with four proper doors and seating for five and one-bed length, 5.6 feet. It is built in a dedicated facility at Ford's Rouge plant, whose construction and production processes are aimed toward sustainability. In addition, the batteries and electric drivetrain components are covered by warranties lasting eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever happens first.

F-150 LIGHTNING GOES TO WORK

With the ability to off-board 9.6 kW of peak energy, F-150 Lightning can provide full-home power for up to three days or as long as ten days if power is rationed.

IMPRESSIVE RANGE AND CHARGING SOLUTIONS

300 MILES PER CHARGE

The all-electric F-150 Lightning has a targeted EPA-estimated range of 300 miles, zero emissions, and available Ford Intelligent Backup Power. Plus, two motors powering the front and rear wheels means almost instant torque for this electric truck.

WE'VE GOT CHARGING COVERED

You are backed by the largest public charging network in North America. So, whether you're on the job, on the road, or at home, we have you covered. The extended-range battery comes standard with the 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro.

TO GO ELECTRIC, WE WENT TO WORK

LITHIUM-ION BATTERY PACK

We equipped the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning with an advanced lithium-ion battery pack that's protected by a unique exostructure that acts as a shield when off-roading. Ford also mounted the battery between the frame rails to ensure it doesn't occupy any interior volume or take away any bed space.

INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION

The Lightning uses an independent rear suspension that helps minimize body roll and isolates road imperfections for a smooth ride and precise handling. The aluminum-alloy control arms help reduce unsprung mass. You can be sure it's been torture-tested to live up to Built Ford Tough standards.

PUTTING ELECTRIC TO WORK

ADVANCED TOWING & HAULING TECHNOLOGY

Work or recreation, we know you've come to rely on the ability of the F-150 to be in it for the long haul. That's why Ford equipped the F-150 Lightning with smart technologies designed to make it easy to hook up your trailer and control it.

ELECTRIC CAN DO EVERYTHING YOU NEED A TRUCK TO DO.

Make no mistake the Lightning isn't a gimmick or a show horse destined for a shiny garage. This truck will enhance the way you go to work and how you play. That's why we built it to have the strength and capability you expect to get the job done.

How much can the Ford Lightning tow?

The all-new Ford Lightning Pro offers uncompromised power or capability. The standard battery range delivers an estimated 230-mile range while generating 426 horsepower and 775 lb.-ft. of torque. The base Lightning comes with a 2,000-pound payload capacity and a 7,700 pounds max trailer capacity. For those who require more power, Ford made the extended-range version with a targeted EPA-estimated 300-mile range. In addition, this version offers customers a targeted 563-horsepower 4x4 powertrain. Plus, when equipped with the optional Max Trailer Tow Package, targeted maximum towing increases to 10,000 pounds.

What is a Frunk?

Lightning brings with it a host of new technologies and features never before possible in a commercial pickup. Front and center are the first-ever Mega Power Frunk. Since there is no engine "under the hood," Ford made a high-tech cargo area that features four 120-volt AC Pro Power Onboard electrical outlets and two USB ports. Plus, this rugged, water-tight space is strong enough to store 400 pounds of cement bags. Ford's Intelligent Range system reduces range anxiety through an adaptive monitoring system that calculates battery range needed to complete a trip, factoring in terrain, weather, cargo and trailer load, and distance to destination. The standard 4G LTE modem unlocks many seamless connectivity services to help fleets optimize efficiency and lower operating costs. The Ford Telematics and EV Telematics dashboard offer in-cab driver coaching, remote vehicle pre-conditioning, and severe incident notifications that can notify the driver if their vehicle is involved in an accident where the airbag is triggered.

Does the 2022 F-150 Lightning come with a charger?

Every Lightning Pro comes with a variety of standard and optional innovative charging hardware accessories. The standard charging hardware is the 32-amp Ford Mobile Charger, a 120/240-volt AC charger. In addition, there is an optional higher-capacity 48-amp Ford Connected Charge Station which runs on 240 volts, while the available 240-volt, 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro for faster charging times. Ford is the only automaker to offer an 80-amp charge station as standard equipment with the extended-range truck, helping customers easily charge at home. This system uses the only dual onboard charging system to cut the 15% to 100% charge time to around eight hours. It also uses reliable AC overnight charging that will dramatically lower charging infrastructure investments and battery wear.
