The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Trim Level Guide

The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Trim Level Guide

Brought to You by Zeigler Ford

Ford recently welcomed back the newly redesigned Bronco to their lineup. Now, they're taking it one step further with the introduction of the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. This all-new crossover SUV is sleek, sporty, and ready to take on your favorite trail. It bears similarities to both the new Ford Bronco and the Ford Escape, but offers its athleticism and off-road capabilities in a slightly more compact size. The Bronco Sport is available in five trim levels, the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, and a limited-run First Edition trim to celebrate its debut. This is a small crossover-SUV that feels equally at home on the trails and on the highway thanks to its smooth handling and solid fuel economy. Continue reading for an in-depth look at what makes each trim level of the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport unique!

Base

The aptly-named Base model of the Ford Bronco Sport comes with a strong offering of standard equipment. All Bronco Sports have impressive interior storage space, including enough room for two upright mountain bikes in the trunk. There are also multiple storage hooks in the rear cargo area, as well as easy-to-clean rubberized seatbacks, and even a slide-out table. The Base comes with the standard powertrain option, which is a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. All Bronco Sports also come with standard full-time all-wheel drive with lock mode, as well as a suite of safety features dubbed the Co-Pilot360. Within this package, you'll find features like lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear traffic alert, and more. Other features of the Bronco Sport Base include 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, roof rails, and a robust traction management system with G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Terrain) Modes.

Big Bend

The second trim level is the Big Bend, which shares standard features like full-time all-wheel drive, a spacious interior, and 1.5-liter, 181 horsepower engine. With the Big Bend, we see the addition of MOLLE (modular lightweight load-bearing equipment) straps throughout the cabin for storing extra gear with carabiners. In addition to the rubberized seatbacks, the Big Bend also features a rubberized cargo floor for easy cleanup after storing bikes or other messy equipment. Additional features include keyless entry and push-button start, heated side mirrors, stain-resistant cloth seating, seatback storage pockets, and tinted rear windows. Like the Base trim, the Bronco Sport Big Bend also receives the Co-Pilot 360 suite of safety features.

Outer Banks

The Outer Banks model is the third trim level of the Ford Bronco Sport. At this level, customers will receive more standard features, and more choices of available features for comfort and convenience. The Outer Banks trim sets itself apart with its 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, body-color door handles, and contrasting white lettering on its black grille. The Bronco Sport mirrors the original Ford Bronco with its absence of the classic blue Ford logo, in favor of a bold "Bronco" inscription across the grille. The Outer Banks receives an upscale touch on its interior, with leather-trimmed front bucket seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The front seats and steering wheel are also heated for added comfort in low temperatures. Additionally, the Outer Banks trim features rain-sensing heated wipers, remote start, and dual-zone automatic climate control. In addition to USB-A and USB-C ports for charging, you'll also find a traditional household-style power outlet as well as soft, ambient interior lighting for an extra sense of calm and refinement.

Badlands

Of all the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport models, the Badlands is known for being the most off-road-ready. It's the only Bronco Sport trim to come with a different standard powertrain, which includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine offering 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The Badlands also has an upgraded 4X4 system, and an expanded selection of G.O.A.T. Modes. Other standard equipment includes all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, and front tow hooks. The Badlands model also features off-road-tuned suspension, with a higher ground clearance than other Bronco Sports. Its standard Trail Control system functions similarly to cruise control, but is specially designed for crawling over rough terrain. The Bronco Sport Badlands has the benefit of some of the Outer Banks' standard features, like a power outlet, heated front seats, and rubberized cargo floor. This model features even more storage, with an underfloor compartment beneath the passenger's side rear seat. While other Bronco Sport models are designed to float seamlessly between off-roading and daily use, the Badlands is the perfect choice for those who want a little extra time on the trails.

First Edition

The First Edition is the final trim for the Ford Bronco Sport. This limited-edition model celebrates the debut of the 2021 Bronco Sport, and combines some favorite features of the other models. Namely, the First Edition maintains the off-roading prowess of the Badlands with its all-terrain tires, enhanced 4X4 capability, and multiple G.O.A.T. Modes. It also includes many features of the Outer Banks model, like leather-trimmed upholstery, heated side mirrors, and heated power front seats. The First Edition trim is perfect for those who want the maximum capabilities the Bronco Sport has to offer, without compromising on style or comfort inside. Some features unique to the First Edition include commemorative badging on the exterior, a wireless charging pad, a Class II tow hitch receiver, and a premium 10-speaker sound system from Bang & Olufsen. Ford is only set to release about 2,000 units of the First Edition model, so make sure to stay up to date on its availability here at Zeigler Ford!
